Meet Jason Born
Trainer Credentials
More than 30 years ago, I began my lifelong work with dogs by training pet dogs to obtain obedience titles. My passion for dog training eventually led me to a career working with Police Service Dogs, where I now have more than 12 years of experience as a certified police dog trainer. I have raised numerous puppies who went on to have successful careers as police dogs. Many of the dogs I trained have competed at the Canadian Police Canine Association National Championships, with several of them winning the “Top Dog” award.
Through my decades of experience training pet dogs and my career specializing in patrol dog training, I have developed a deep understanding of canine psychology and behaviour. While the goals of training a police dog may differ from those of a family dog, the principles of positive reinforcement, clear communication, and consistent training methods are the same.
I understand dogs. And I know how to teach you to train your family dog and help them become a well-behaved and well-adjusted member of your household.

My Training Process
My hour-long sessions are private one-on-ones at your location with you, your dog, and me as your trainer. During these sessions, we will work on various techniques with your dog and give you the opportunity to practice as well. It's important to consistently practice the techniques learned in each session at home between meetings to ensure your dog's progress.
Between sessions, you can email me with any questions or concerns. In subsequent sessions, we will review the homework you worked on and continue to tailor the training plan to your dog's individual needs. My goal is for you and your dog to have an enjoyable and productive time together.
